How to Get to the Station & Buy Train Tickets (μ-Tickets / IC Card) from Chubu Centrair International Arrivals

1. After exiting the International Arrival Gate, turn left

7. ① Buy a train ticket or an IC card (“manaca”)
⚠️You need cash to buy an IC card (Tickets and μ-tickets can be paid for by credit card)
② If you already have an IC card (Suica, PASMO, ICOCA, etc.), go straight to the station gate
③ Get Japanese yen at a currency exchange counter or ATM if you don’t have cash.

10. Buy a train ticket or an IC card
How to buy an IC card (“manaca”)
#1. Select your language (English, Korean and Chinese are available)
#2. Purchase an IC card (⚠️Cash only).
💡If you want to travel smoothly without buying a ticket every time, we recommend getting an IC card.
#3. Tap “manaca new purchase”
#4. Tap “Confirm”
You will pay 500 yen as a deposit.
💡You can get your 500 yen deposit back by returning the card at a Meitetsu station counter before you fly home. (A 220 yen handling fee applies to any remaining balance).
#5. Tap “Non-personalized manaca”
#6. Tap “¥2000” (A ¥500 deposit is included, giving you ¥1,500 of usable balance.)
#7. Insert ¥2000 cash and get your IC card with ¥1500 pre-charged
How to buy a train ticket
#1. Select your language (English, Korean and Chinese are available)
#2. Purchase a ticket (Cash or Credit Cards)
#3. Check your destination and fare on the route map above the ticket machine
#4. Tap the amount that matches the fare to your destination
💡The fare is ¥980 to Meitetsu Nagoya Station and to ¥910 to Kanayama Station (May 2026)

How to buy a μ-ticket (First class car ticket)
#1. Select your language (English, Korean and Chinese are available)
#2. Purchase a μ-ticket (First class car ticket)
💡A μ-ticket (¥450) is required to ride the “μ-SKY” train, or if you want a reserved seat in the First-class cars (Cars 1 & 2) on other Limited Express trains.
#3. Select your ticket type 
⚠️To ride the μ-SKY, you need “two tickets“: a base fare (Train ticket or IC card) and a μ-Ticket
① Tap “μ-ticket” if you already have an IC card or a train ticket → Go to #4
② Tap “One-way ticket and μ-ticket” to buy your train ticket and μ-ticket together → Go to #6.1
#4. If you selected “①μ-ticket” in #3
① Tap “Now boarding” to take the next available train immediately
② Tap “Select by boarding time/boarding station” to choose a specific departure time or a later train → Go to #5.1
#5.1. If you selected “②Select by boarding time/boarding station” in #4
Tap the number of passengers.
#5.2. Tap your arrival station 
For example, tap “Meitetsu Nagoya” to go to central Nagoya.
#5.3. Tap the time you want to depart 
Check the departure time and make sure there are “Seats open” (⚪︎).
#5.4. Tap your seat preference 
💡Tap “Any seat OK” if you don’t have a preference (Quickest operation), or “Select by car and seat location” if you want a window or aisle seat. If you want to pick an exact seat from a map, choose “Select by seat chart” at the bottom.
#5.5. Check your μ-ticket details and tap “Confirm”
#5.6. You can pay by cash or credit card.

#6.1. If you selected “②One-way ticket and μ-ticket” in #3
#6.2. Tap the number of adults and children. Then, tap “Confirm” to proceed.
#6.3. Tap your arrival station 
For example, tap “Meitetsu Nagoya” to go to central Nagoya.
#6.4. Tap the time you want to depart 
Check the departure time and make sure there are “Seats open” (⚪︎).
#6.5. Tap your seat preference 
💡Tap “Any seat OK” if you don’t have a preference (Quickest operation), or “Select by car and seat location” if you want a window or aisle seat. If you want to pick an exact seat from a map, choose “Select by seat chart” at the bottom.
#6.6. Check your μ-ticket details and tap “Confirm”
#6.7. You can pay by cash or credit card.
11. After passing the station gate
① Check your platform number (1, 2, or 3)
② Once confirmed: Platforms 1 and 2 → Go right, Platform 3 → Go left
12. Check your platform number
① Track: Check your platform number (1, 2, or 3). Follow the arrow (← or →) to find your way.
② Type: This shows the train’s speed. Some trains require a separate “First Class Car Ticket” called a μ-ticket.
◻︎μ-SKY (ミュースカイ): Basic fare + μ-ticket.
⚠️You cannot board this train with only a basic ticket or IC card.
◻︎Limited Exp. (特急): This train consists of both “Standard cars” and “First Class cars.”
• Standard cars: Basic fare only (No extra fee).
• First Class cars: Basic fare + μ-ticket.
◻︎Express (急行) / Semi Exp. (準急) / Local (普通): Basic fare only (No extra fee).
③ Destination: This shows the final stop of the train.
💡All trains departing from Chubu Centrair International Airport station stop at Kanayama Station and Meitetsu Nagoya Station.
No matter which destination is shown on the board (such as “Gifu”, “Inuyama”, “Nagoya”), you can board any train to reach the main city center of Nagoya.
④ Dep.Time: The scheduled departure time
⑤ First Class Car: This shows if “First Class” (Reserved) seats are available. A green circle “◯” means seats are available.
13. Follow the arrow and board your train
14. If you are taking a Limited Exp. (特急) train and do not have a μ-ticket, please make sure to board the Standard cars (NON-RESERVED), which are Cars 3 and beyond.
