What is GO?
GO is a taxi-hailing app that allows you to request and book taxis easily across many cities in Japan. It is especially useful when you need quick transportation, have heavy luggage, or when public transit is unavailable.

How to Use GO
💡We highly recommend downloading the app and setting up your payment method before your trip.
1. Download the app

2. Add your payment method
3. Tap “Destination” to select where you want to go. After reviewing the estimated fare and arrival time on the screen, tap “Request Taxi” to call your ride.
4. Once your booking is confirmed, the app will display the specific taxi’s license plate and vehicle number. Match this with the incoming taxi to ensure you board the correct car.
5. Upon arrival, the fare is processed automatically via GO Pay. You can simply step out of the taxi without exchanging cash.
How to Pre-book a Taxi (Reservation)
If you want to schedule a taxi in advance for a specific date and time, follow these steps:
1. Tap “Reservation” on the main screen, then tap “+ New Reservation”.
2. Select your pick-up location and destination on the map, just like a standard ride request.
3. Enter your desired date and time for the pick-up to complete your reservation.
⚠️ Important Notice for Reservations
・Pre-booking a taxi through the app incurs a dedicated “AI Reservation Fee” in addition to the standard taxi fare and pick-up fee.
Fare Information
When you book a taxi using the GO app, your total fare is calculated based on the following official rules:
・Base Fare: Starts at around ¥500–¥700 for the first 1–1.5 km (the exact rate depends on the region and the specific taxi company dispatched via the app).
・Distance & Time Fare: After the initial distance, the fare increases by approximately ¥80–¥100 every 300–400 meters (about ¥200–¥300 per kilometer). A time-based fee is automatically added by the meter if your taxi gets caught in heavy traffic.
・Late-Night Surcharge: A 20% extra fee is automatically applied to the fare for rides booked between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
・Highway Tolls: If your requested route requires a toll road or highway, the actual cost will be added to your final GO Pay payment.
⚠️ Important GO App Fees
・Pick-up Fee : Depending on the region and the taxi company dispatched to your location, a fixed pick-up fee may be added to your final fare.
・App Usage Fee: In certain major urban areas, a small service fee may be charged by the GO app for processing your booking.
